Vanderwolfs Pyramid Limber Pine

Unique Good Looks with Easy Care

Gardeners love the Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Limber Pine for many reasons. Its soft, deep-blue, twisting needles are unusual on other types of evergreens. And it’s prized for its narrow width and pyramidal shape, which add graceful height to any landscape.

Its eye-catching branching and deep color stand out in a crowd. New growth appears green, then later matures into its signature twisted, blue-green needles with large, decorative pine cones.

Place one for a perfect accent tree, or plant a row for a simple, attractive privacy screen. Landscaping a smaller space? The Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Pine also can be planted in patio containers. Plus, it’s versatile in size and shape – if youre looking for a denser tree, you can pinch out or break new growth in half.

With low-maintenance good looks, the Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Limber Pine requires little care other than minimal pruning – once established, it will tolerate drought, and it has excellent disease and pest resistance, making it an easy addition to your yard. In fact, it’s a perfect tree for rocky areas and difficult planting locations.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Limber Pine in a spot that gets full sun, with well-draining soil. Dig a hole that’s large enough to accommodate the root ball, place your tree carefully and back fill the soil.

2. Watering: Water your Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Limber Pine regularly and deeply during its first growing season – you can reduce watering frequency once established.

3. Pruning: The Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Pine requires little pruning. However, if you want to retain a denser, bushier form, you’ll want to “candle” your tree when it’s young – pinching an inch or two from the ends of new growth to encourage more bud development.
