Sambucus Elderberry Easy Fruit Kit

Imagine picking fresh elderberries right from your gardenrich in flavor and packed with nutrients. The Sambucus Elderberry Easy Fruit Kit makes it simple for you to cultivate these versatile berries at home. Designed with two perfectly paired elderberry varieties, Samdal and Samyl, this kit encourages cross-pollination, giving you bountiful harvests. These shrubs can reach an impressive 10 to 20 feet in height, making them as beautiful as they are productive. Early in the summer, you’ll see clusters of creamy white flowers with a gentle fragrance filling your garden, followed by deep blue-black berries that will delight birds if left on the branches.

Elderberries, also known as Sambucus nigra, have a rich history as a go-to for herbal remedies and delicious recipes. The berries and flowers are bursting with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, including vitamins A and C, potassium, and iron. You can transform these berries into homemade jams, jellies, and even syrups. The flowers add an aromatic touch to teas, cordials, or even homemade skincare. With their lush foliage and unique blooms, elderberry shrubs are a natural choice for rain gardens, butterfly gardens, and woodland landscapes, blending beauty with edible goodness. The Sambucus Elderberry Easy Fruit Kit offers all you need to enjoy the experience of growing these beautiful and beneficial plants.

Both elderberry varieties in the kit are cold-hardy to Zone 3, low-maintenance, and thrive best with full to part sun. They adapt well to most garden settings, enjoying fertile, moist, and well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH of 6.0 to 6.5. For the best results, prune second-year shoots after fruiting, and feed in early spring to encourage robust growth. Each shrub is cell-grown, ensuring a strong start and quick establishment so you can enjoy fruit by the second season. With the Sambucus Elderberry Easy Fruit Kit, add an attractive, fruit-bearing shrub to your garden that gives back year after year. And with one Samyl shrub pollinating up to five Samdal shrubs, you’ll have a garden full of delicious, homegrown elderberries ready for all your culinary creations. Always cook elderberries before consuming. Plants arrive dormant.
