Meet Me Here Where the Sunflowers Grow

Kate Florences large-scale figurative paintings unfold like vignettes from a surreal Western dream. Her subjectsmusicians, horses, cowboy-like figuresmove through invented narratives rendered in rich earth tones and sweeping, gestural lines. These scenes hum with motion and intimacy, each stroke echoing the immediacy of the hand. Drawing from a personal mythology as much as from the collective imaginary of the American West, Florence constructs spaces where story and symbol collide. Her compositions, both raw and precise, carry the quiet charge of something familiar made strangean interior frontier where emotion and myth meet in equal measure.
