These bulbs look great in flower beds, borders, containers, and in your landscapethis collection offers endless possibilities. While these bulbs are often grown as annuals, they have the potential to naturalize in optimal conditions, especially in the recommended USDA Hardiness Zones.

To plant your Dutch Bulb Garden, space the bulbs 4 to 8 inches apart and 4 to 8 inches deep. Choose a sunny to partially shady spot for planting, as some light shade can help extend the bloom time by keeping the bulbs cool. These bulbs are versatile and can adapt to a variety of soil types, but it’s important to ensure the soil drains well to prevent rot. As growth begins, be sure to feed the bulbs with a well-balanced fertilizer like Espoma Organic Bulb-tone Bulb and Flower Food to support healthy blooming.

After the flowers have finished blooming, remove them to maintain the garden’s appearance. However, allow the leaves to yellow and wither naturally before cutting them back, as they continue to absorb nutrients that feed the bulbs for the following year’s growth. In warmer USDA Zones 8-10, it’s advisable to refrigerate the bulbs for at least eight weeks before planting to mimic the cold period they require for optimal growth.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a beginner, the Dutch Bulb Garden in a Bag offers a simple and rewarding way to create a vibrant spring garden. With this mix, you’ll enjoy a garden full of color and life with minimal effort.
