Buddleia Mop Top Butterfly Bush

Buddleia Mop Top from the Proven Winners ColorChoice Flowering Shrubs collection is a compact butterfly bush known for its limber, weeping habit. Growing to only 3 to 5 feet tall and wide, Mop Top features long, arching branches that create a lovely spray effect, adding soft refinement to garden settings. In spring, these cascading branches are adorned with clusters of lavender blooms that attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, making it a true pollinator magnet. The fragrant flowers are perfect for spring bouquets and cut arrangements, bringing the beauty of spring indoors.

A cultivar of Buddleia alternifolia, also known as the butterfly bush or fountain butterfly bush, Mop Top is an excellent choice for small-space gardens and larger pollinator-friendly landscapes. Its multi-stemmed, compact growth makes it ideal as a specimen plant or in mass plantings, adding color, texture, and movement to beds and borders.

Cold-hardy to Zone 4, Mop Top is even more resilient than many other buddleia varieties, thriving in full sun with well-drained, slightly alkaline soil. This drought-tolerant, deer-resistant shrub is low maintenance and highly adaptable, perfect for gardeners looking for a durable and beautiful flowering shrub to enrich their landscape.
