Le Laboureur French Moleskin Farm Pant with Braces in Black

These French Moleskin Farm Pants with Braces romantically conjure up images of agricultural work from another era. But nostalgia isnt the only reason to be drawn to them.

Personal experience in the garden had us learn of the incredible usefulness of a high waisted trouser. Here, your trousers are always comfortably in place, especially with the support of buttoned suspenders. The higher rise and relaxed fit provides better range of motion and prevents a blown out crotch, while the oversized waist panel feels supportive with the added benefit of creating a flattering trim torso silhouette. Another welcome traditional detail, the rear buckleback strap for adjusting the waist and hip dimension. Lastly, the contrasting exterior kneepads (which can accept padded inserts) so functional, so incredibly cool.

What is Moleskin?

Traditionally used in French workwear, moleskin is a densely woven fabric with a soft, sueded finish that offers exceptional durability and comfort. Unlike its name suggests, it’s not made from animal skinrather, its a heavyweight fabric thats been brushed to achieve a smooth, almost velvety handfeel. Warm, wind-resistant, and built to last, it breaks in beautifully over time, developing a unique patina with wear.

We are pleased to carry Le Laboureur, a small French family-owned brand producing traditional workwear since the 1950s. Ever since, fashionmongers and gardeners alike have been drawn to their timeless shapes and practical use.
